About Community Scholars

These high schools include: Diamond Hill-Jarvis, Dunbar, North Side, O.D. Wyatt, Polytechnic, South Hills, Trimble Technical, Young Men's Leadership Academy, Sam Houston (Arlington), Lincoln (Dallas), DeSoto, Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy (Dallas) and David W. Carter (Dallas).

The Chancellor's Scholarship is TCU's most competitive merit award and includes full tuition for eight semesters.

Renewal Requirements for Academic Scholarships

First-year level students must successfully complete 24 TCU hours with at 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA to renew for the upcoming year.

Fraternity and Sorority Life at Texas Christian University began in 1955 when the first fraternity chapter was established. Almost seventy years and thousands of members later, the FSL community is thriving and now offers 40+ organizations and proudly represents over 50% of the undergraduate population.

Annual tuition will now be more than $61,000, an increase of about $4,520 annually for full-time undergraduates. TCU's website says the increase came "after careful consideration of economic factors, and it is necessary to maintain and advance TCU's standard of excellence in academics, student experience and services."

TCU awards numerous merit-based and need-based scholarships each academic year through the generosity of alumni and private donors. Scholarship award amounts vary and are often awarded based on several factors including, but not limited to, demonstrated academic success, donor-stipulated criteria and financial need.

Because TCU is a selective university, we are able to consider all credentials, both academic and extracurricular, as well as teacher and counselor evaluations, when reviewing an application for admission. TCU has no minimum requirement for GPA or test score to be considered for admission.

Does TCU stack scholarships? ›

TCU Community Scholars, who receive full scholarships, will have the institutionally funded portion of their award reduced by the amount received in any outside award.

The Dutch Meyer Scholarship assists children of former TCU athletes who wish to attend TCU as an undergraduate student. Applicants must be a son or daughter of a TCU Block T Association current dues paying member who meets all criteria of association membership.

Roach Honors College complements and coordinates with any degree plan at TCU. Honors students graduate with undergraduate degrees from all programs and colleges at TCU. Academic advisors in your major area and in the Honors College can assist you in creating an academic plan that incorporates the Honors requirements.

40 percent of TCU students are from Texas, 55 percent come from other states and 5 percent are from other countries. States that are particularly well-represented in the student body include California, Illinois, Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee, Kansas, Arizona, Georgia, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

TCU is a church-based college; our affiliation with the Disciples of Christ (D.O.C.) church dates back to our founding in 1873, when brothers Addison and Randolph Clark, Disciples ministers, established then AddRan Male and Female College in Thorp Spring, TX.
